Mission Our mission is to rescue the stray abandoned cats, who are ill or injured; inspire change in the way the animals are perceived and protect them from neglect and abuse.
Who we are We are a non-profit, animal welfare organisation dedicated to improving the lives of stray, disabled, chronically ill and emotionally traumatized cats and kittens by providing them a safe shelter and a healing touch.
History Rescue The Cats was founded by a team of passionate animal lovers and activists to assist abandoned cats in NCR. The organisation has grown exponentially since we first opened our gates for homeless cats on the 15th of March 2010. It is a non- profit feline rescue facility and sanctuary for medically needy, abused and aging cats. Currently, our shelter in Gurgaon has two large sheds to house our cats. Both sheds have exterior "cat proof" fencing. We provide shelter to enable these voiceless beauties to live their full lives providing care, comfort and enrichment.
Organisation Our organization is staffed entirely by volunteers, and our efforts are supported through donations and the generosity of animal lovers from within the community. By working with committed volunteers, fosters, and veterinarians, we nurture, provide medical care, and rehabilitate the cats and kittens while providing a safe and loving environment for as long as it takes to find them adoptive homes. Those that are not adoptable; due to age, loss of home/habitat or health concerns, stay at our facility where they are provided shelter, food and veterinary care. At this time there are approximately 13 cats who are our permanent residents. Our team provides education about cruelties inflicted on animals,, raising awareness within the communities and leads by example. We want to help the animals have a voice to show that they have just as much as a right to live as anyone. Rescue The Cats is truly a life-line for hundreds of these lovable little whiskered who otherwise would be left to brutalities of fate.
